My name is Maggie Hurtado.
I’ve lived in the Bay Area my entire life! I like to say I grew up in San Leandro, but I only lived there until I was 13-years-old, when my family moved to lovely Livermore. While we only lived there for a year, I consider Livermore one of the most inspirational years of my young life. While now, Livermore is a sprawling suburban setting, when I was 12 the city was small enough for everyone to know everyone. Real cowboys still rode down streets on horses, and the country settings were beautiful. To this day, the number 12 is important to me and remains my favorite number. I loved everything about that year, and Livermore played a huge role.
Leaving Livermore, my family moved to Alameda, where, much like Livermore, I found a place I loved to live. I’d say my favorite part was the proximity we lived to everything. I could just throw on my roller blades and tour the city. I could go to the beach or hop on Bart for a trip to San Francisco where I’d explore and find some of the most amazing foods I’ve ever eaten.
By senior year, I moved again. When I found out I was moving to a small town named Discovery Bay, I really thought my life was over. In fact, I had never even heard of Discovery Bay. Luckily, I’d met my future husband who had been raised in Brentwood and Oakley. He was able to show me that this little place I’d never heard of had hidden treasures just waiting to be discovered. I learned how to slow down and appreciate the world around me. From cows grazing in the fields to freshly picked fruit and amazing sunsets. I found a love for small city events such as the Corn Festival and Almond Festival and I loved the charm of an entire town getting involved and the feel of having a huge extended family!
I was in love with more than small town living and got married shortly after high school at 19-years-old. Perhaps one of the strongest qualities my husband and I shared was our commitment to working hard. Our obsession at the time was owning our own home, and within a year of marriage our hard work paid off, and we bought our first home.
I spent nine years in the daycare industry. During that time, I was able to learn, hands-on, about the school district—my three children and four others. Seven children all day every day.
Two years later I was able to put my extensive knowledge of the local communities, hangouts, parks and schools to use as a realtor. I really feel that having a good knowledge of the area, and more importantly, a love of where I’ve lived for 31 years (17 as a realtor) is an asset for people moving into, moving up, or selling their home.
I have never looked back on my life, and I love what I do. This is something I believe I share with everyone I meet!
I am proud to say I am now a Partner/Owner at Weichert Realtors® - HH and Associates (Formally known as RidgeWater Real Estate). I am so excited about the change. Weichert will give me the opportunity to offer so much more to my agents and clients.

I am a director with the “Delta Association of Realtors Service Foundation Board” and proud to
serve the East Bay. Our group raises money by organizing community events such as the Delta
Harvest Run, Roctoberfest, and others. The money is then used for local food banks and
homeless shelters as well as scholarships for East Contra Costa County high school students. Our
association has been doing this for over 30 years!
As a realtor, the majority of my business comes by referral, which makes for a wonderful
experience, both for my clients and for me. I feel that honesty and integrity are two of my
strongest traits and not only do I strive to immerse myself in these beliefs, but I also feel that I
am drawn to like-minded clients. I love working with friends and family referrals as well as
people I’ve never met before and this may be where you come in. I’d love to meet you and invite
you into my circle of friends and family. After all, while I may not know you, I can say that I
have never actually met a stranger.
This is me, and I hope my short bio provides insight into my character and the passion I have for
real estate and the area I serve.
I feel so fortunate to have met and helped as many great clients as I have over the years and I
look forward to what the future holds! Thank you for the opportunity to serve you, I’m excited to
meet and help you achieve your goals!
